Frenchman Bay Regional Shellfish Conservation Shellfish Licenses
Applications for resident commercial shellfish licenses will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., starting Monday June 21, 2010 thru the Ellsworth City Clerks Office at 1 City Hall Plaza, Ellsworth, Maine.  These licenses will be sold to residents of Trenton, Hancock, Sullivan, Franklin, Sorrento, Lamoine and Ellsworth on an unlimited basis.

Nomination Papers Available Soon

Nomination papers for the November 2, 2010 Municipal Election will be available at the Ellsworth City Clerk’s office, in City Hall, beginning Friday, August 06, 2010 for the following positions:

  • 3 Ellsworth City Council members, terms to expire November 2013
  • 1 Ellsworth Library Trustee member, term to expire November 2013
  • 1 Ellsworth RSU Committee member, term to expire November 2013
Nomination papers must be returned to the Ellsworth City Clerk’s office on or before Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 5:00pm.
 
City Awards Bid for Bond

The City of Ellsworth sold $3,574,000 in General Obligation Bonds on May 25, 2010 in a competitive bid sale.  The City Council awarded the low bid to Raymond James & Associates, Inc at a TIC (True Interest Cost) of 2.098227 percent for a ten year period.

Proceeds of the bonds are for:

Route 1A Water Main Extension Project - $2,103,050
Aerial Apparatus Fire Truck - $690,235
Refunding of the 2006 General Obligation Bond - $780,715
